Research 101: Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan

Sometimes you may find a citation to a book or article that is not owned by Busse Library.  In that case, the Library will borrow the item for you from another library.  This process is called "Interlibrary Loan."  Interlibrary Loan is a free service.  Articles are typically received within a few days. Books are typically received within one or two weeks.

Many of the databases have a link that allows you to submit an Interlibrary Loan request.  In the Ebsco databases, click on the link at the bottom of the record that says "If not Full Text, you can REQUEST THIS ARTICLE."  Fill in your contact information on the following form and the Library staff will obtain the item for you.

On WorldCat, click on the blue button that says "Request Item."

The Library webpage also has an Interlibrary Loan Link that will allow you to submit an Interlibrary Loan request.  Or you can just call or email the Library.
