This week as we get back into the rhythm of the semester, we will be highlighting the Busse Library staff, focusing on a different staff member each day.

Today we'd like you to meet Kristy Raine, library director and archivist.

1. What is your role in the library?

I am the director of library services.

2. What does your role typically include?

It includes anything and everything from budgeting, managing contracts with vendors, handling electronic resources, interlibrary loan and reference, library instruction, managing library personnel, tending to the facility, and working with the larger MMU community. I also handle archive questions and requests.

3. What do you like to do when you aren’t at work?

When not at work, I enjoy early morning walks, traveling with family, attending my son's high school events and volunteering at his school. I also tackle some home improvement projects, cooking adventures, and trying Korean restaurants.

4. What have you been reading/listening/watching recently?

A lot of different things! I'm an NPR devotee. I have been listening to the "Renegades" podcast hosted by Bruce Springsteen and Barack Obama, watching the new Marvel content on Disney+, Never Have I Ever on Netflix, Hasan Minaj's podcasts/Facebook live streams, baseball games, Start-Up (K-drama on Netflix), and plan on starting Crash Landing on You soon.
